Saturation of images rush the senses, explode the mind. Shocking, ironic images, events.  Stop! Freeze the machine! I know that image - a gesture from art history blinks by on its way back to cyberspace. Another scene reflects the chiaroscuro of a Renaissance painting.  Go back, rescue it, contemplate it, make it reverberate again but for a moment.  Beauty and horror mixing so nonchalantly in our 21st century and I am overcome by both.  The images I choose seem iconic to me such that I feel the need for restaging, retelling, magnifing and enhancing them to effect and recapture the drama of an event or place.  Abstraction also becomes a form of furthering the narrative.
